Ingredients
- Eggs - 8 large
- Water - 12 cups
- Ice or cold water to cool hot eggs
Instructions
Prep Work:
- Prepare large bowl and fill with cold water for cooling of eggs.
Cooking:
- Bring water to boil over high heat.
- Gently lower eggs into boiling water.
- Bring back to boil, then simmer. Soft-boiled: 7 minutes. Hard-boiled: 13 minutes.
- Transfer eggs to large bowl with cold water and let cool for 5 minutes.
Notes
- Timing starts after adding last egg to the boiling water.
- Recipe works for from 2 to 8 eggs.
- Timing changes when there are more than 8 eggs.
